If you are awarded one of the major sport prizes at the age of 21 – that`s pretty awesome – or you are Mark Marquez. Besides, Valentino Rossi won this price twice. Sounds cruel? Tendentious? Who senses a little aversion? Okay, if we had to decide, we would choose the Dottore. But this does not prevent us from writing appreciatively about the guy who rode the highest ever driven speed in the history of the Moto-GP: Mark Marquez.
This guy is doing great, regarding statistics he is behind Valentino Rossi and no, we didn’t choose this comparison, that is what he always does. Seems like he wants to be the young Padawan who becomes a serious danger to his master. But back to statistics, Marquez has the most victories and pole positions in one season, became the youngest world champion in Moto-GP history, has the very best victory- and pole-rate (24 and 30 out of 54 races), the most victories in a row (absolute and per season) and drove the highest ever driven speed in Moto-GP history: threehundredandfuckingfiftypointfive km/h. We have to accept without envy, Mark Marquez is doing great. But: He ain’t got a nickname.
