WHO RIDES THE WORLD? Meet Pipa Pereira and the Dust Girls!

It’s happening: WHO RIDES THE WORLD is running!

This month Riser is dedicating their support to women motorcyclists around the globe! With our initiative WHO RIDES THE WORLD we will be highlighting female riders, female clubs, female festivals and other great initiatives by women who all share passion for motorcycles. But we also want to involve YOU: we want the whole community to participate and you will have the chance to WIN! (read here for more info). Make sure to stay tuned over the course of the next weeks!

Today we are happy to introduce Pipa Pereira and her motorcycle group, The Dust Girls!

Pipa Pereira is a 36-year-old fearless motorcycle rider from Cascais, Portugal. She is full of eagerness to take on new challenges on the road as well as in life. She started to ride in 2015 and now drives a Harley Davidson Forty-Eight. Off the road, she is a mother of two children and works as a business consultant. Her social media profile reveals not only that Pipa is an inspiration to many, but also that her heart belongs to the motorsport.

Pipa is part of a motorcycle crew called The Dust Girls. They are five women of different ages and backgrounds whose paths crossed in 2017 when they were connected through the motorcycle community The Litas, a community of female riders that you will hear more about on our RISER Journal soon. Despite their differences they discovered a common attitude towards life and have since traveled countless kilometers together on their motorcycles. Far away from any politics or male exclusion, their aim is to make visible the strength and power women can carry when driven by passion.

The group is all about discovery and adventure. One of their favorite routes is the N2 road through Portugal. It is the longest road in Portugal and one of the longest in the world stretching 738 km from north to south. It crosses wine regions and medieval towns and is a destination of many who want to ride and discover the beauty of Portugal at the same time. However, the Dust Girls have taken on a much bigger challenge this time. At this very moment, they have ridden together through wind and rain from Lisbon south to Tangier, Morocco. This has been a long desired dream for them. In Morocco, they are starting an 11-day ride through the country. It’s a journey out of their comfort zones through roads and surroundings different from what they are used to. RISER wishes the Dust Girls a successful and safe journey and we look forward to following more of their adventurous undertakings in the future!
