WHO RIDES THE WORLD: MEET GINA LA MARINE!

It’s happening: WHO RIDES THE WORLD is ON!

This month Riser is dedicating their support to women motorcyclists around the globe! With our initiative WHO RIDES THE WORLD we are highlighting female riders, female clubs, female festivals and other great initiatives by women who all share passion for motorcycles. But we also want to involve YOU: we want the whole community to participate and you will have the chance to WIN! (read here for more info). Make sure to stay tuned over the course of the next weeks but right now you can read further about Gina La Marine!

Gina La Marine is a fashion designer based in Vienna. She is also a passionate rider and we are proud to say, a RISER AMBASSADOR as well. Her fashion label Gina Drewes, stands for timeless chic, ready-to-wear and couture for women. Gina also makes  motorcycle fashion for women under the name Chakkaboom which we had a look at on our RISER Journal before. To support the Female Riders Movement, we are featuring Gina again on our Journal for our campaign, Who Rides The World. This time with 5 questions about her love for riding.

1. How and when did you start biking (together)?
I made my drivers license when I was 18, but I never could afford a motorbike. Luckily, my mum, who drives since more than 20 years, bought her a new Harley Davidson. And so she gave me her old 97′ HD Sportster. Good for her, because with me she found an enthusiastic biking partner. The Sporty got a nice make-over to fit better to my style.

2. What is your life’s motto? (or the motto of your bike pack)
Ah, there are quite a few, but it’s all about empowerment… Love what you do and do what you love. Be different. You can find inspiration in everything. We can do it!

3. Why is driving in a group better?
It is more fun, safer and there is always one person in the group who knows an interesting route, a good restaurant or any random spot you didn’t see before – you have the chance to discover more than alone on your bike. I enjoy that.

4. What is your favourite route for a group ride? And why?
I like to ride with my mum and her friends, but it’s just slow cruising. I prefer to go with people, guys and girls, who are driving faster and more challenging. So I can learn to be a better biker.

5. What would you like all women to know? We are able to do everything and we should not hide that. We must believe in ourselves and feel our strength and power. Then there is nothing and no one who can stop us.
