The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the world’s largest motorcycle gathering, takes place annually in Sturgis and Sturgis, South Dakota, during the first week of August for 10 days. Established in 1938 by local Indian dealer Pappy Hoel, the rally has evolved with private businesses hosting events like races, concerts, and rides. The 2024 event will be the 84th annual rally, held from August 2nd to August 11th. Beyond racing and hill climbing, attendees can enjoy scenic rides to landmarks as well as numerous wild west and Black Hills history museums.

Starting from Sturgis, the loop heads south to Mount Rushmore and continues through the hills into Wyoming. There, you’ll visit Sundance and Beulah, known for hosting the largest biker pig roast. On the return to Sturgis, you’ll pass through the pristine northern hills around St. Onge.
