THE BEST VESPA TRIPS IN AUSTRIA

We are STEEL ROLLER Linz and apart from being RISER AMBASSADORS we do like to to ride to various Vespa meetings in Upper Austria together. Occasionally we have meetings in Styria – but that’s another story.

The meeting in Upper Austria we had last year was especially nice so we’ll tell you about it here.

On 08 September 2018, the meeting in Waldzell (Upper Austria) was our chosen destination.

As always, we met at the Turmöltankstelle near PlusCity Linz – more precisely at the CarLovers parking lot.

There the 20 participants, who followed the call of the Vespa, were instructed and informed about the driving style.

The driving style at our rides is always “staggered” and with a maximum speed of 80 km/h. In addition there are approx. 4 persons, who secure the roads and roundabouts, so that the group as a whole gets through without problems.

Thankfully the friends of the Vespaclub “L’EQUIPAGGIO” from Linz always helped us out with these issues.

After the departure in Pasching we drove by the gas station in the direction of Marchtrenk and past Wels. From there the roads led us via Pichl near Wels further to Geboltskirchen where there was a short break for a smoke.

From Geboltskirchen one reaches a very nice piece of road through the “Hausruck” (see segment on RISER!).

This route is very popular with bikers of all kinds because the curves are very narrow and spectacular through the forest.

As we were still riding in a large group here, we of course slowed down the pace – but this short stretch can definitely be recommended.

Then we went on towards the finish line: Waldzell

Arrived there, we registered our group with the organizers, hoping to win the prize as the largest group.

At about 14.00 o’clock, there was a Vespa parade around the community of Waldzell. The corso should have been about 20-40 km long. It makes a very impressive picture, if you drive with 400 other scooters slowly through the different villages and the people at the roadside wave to you and clap.

At the end of the Corso, the core team of the “STEEL ROLLER” got together again and consumed 1 last drink. Strengthened we went back again.

At the beginning again by the “Hausruck”, which was taken in the now smaller group (10 scooter riders), but already with some more momentum.

Then further in the direction of Haag am Hausruck and the “Alte Grieskirchner Bundesstrasse” in the direction of the brewery town of Grieskirchen.

There we had another short break. After this we went through Bad Schallerbach and Holzhausen back to Pasching to our starting point.

It was a very nice tour which brought at the end approx. 180 km on the speedometer.
