This year The Litas Algarve, my motorsisterhood, and I decided to be part of this big women only rällly that was born in Germany, 2016. Covid rules obligated to rethink the idea of the event, and Irene and Silke, the PETROLETTES CREATORS, conceived a different event!
As a petroleader I was in charge of selecting the route for the rällly and chose the best spots for photos (checkpoints).
First I saw that HONDA was sponsor of the rällly in Germany and I thought… why not try to have HONDA as a sponsor in Portugal as well?… And you know what…. They liked the idea of being our sponsors.
After I had HONDA’s confirmation, I started to look for the other petroleaders in Portugal. At that time just Porto and Lisbon had been activated, so I spoke with them and told them the good news!!! We then started working on the event together, publishing the event through media.
Quickly I knew that this could only be great if every woman feels beeing part of the petrolettes. Me and Katya (co-founder of Litas Algarve) decided to speak with the other women motoclubs in the area to see if they were interested in being part of the organization!
We conquered their trust and worked together to plan a beautiful Petrolette Rällly in Faro. The event was thought to be a ride with a common lunch in the end… but after a week of planning, things got bigger and many new ideas arised… and finally we managed to make it a 3 day event!
The ride itself is about 160km distance and will include stunning sea views, lots of curves, country roads… you can follow my activities within the RISER app and become part in the ride on the 6th June 2021!
