Saluton, ni ŝatus enkonduki iun al vi. Chris, unu el kodaj avantaĝoj ĉi tie ĉe RISER.
If you’re wondering what weird language that is: it’s Esperanto and means ‘hello, we would like to introduce someone to you. Chris, one of our coding-pros here at RISER’.
Why Esperanto? Because Chris has some rather unusual language-skills: besides having learned coding languages he has also studied Esperanto, the world’s most widely spoken constructed language.
At RISER Chris takes care of the backend, which means is responsible for the technology in the background of the app, such as the groups administration, making sure, that the translation of locations is working or the notifications that users get.
Before he came to us, Chris was working in the field of weather data analysis. And his experience of working with geodata and measuring physical values such as velocity or altitude differences are of course worth a mint for the RISER app.
He came to RISER via Sven, with whom he once worked together. In a conversation, the two noticed that Sven’s work at RISER has many parallels to Chris’ project. Then Chris came by and just felt so comfortable in the team that he stayed. And that makes us happy!
“What I really like about working at RISER is the enthusiasm of the team, the fact that we work with the latest technologies and that we all get the user feedback right away.” Chris describes the benefits of his job.
