Every time we make appointments with friends to go for a ride, countless messages are sent back and forth, or groups of people are set up on social media or messenger services to facilitate communication. Many of you have written to us describing that they know exactly the same situation. So that’s why we thought:
what if all this was possible on the same platform, where we also track our trips, network with our friends and discover new routes?
With the new GETAWAY feature, it is now possible to organise trips directly within the RISER app and in just a few steps: you can create a getaway and choose different categories depending on what you want to do – whether it’s a short ride for a coffee after work, a longer trip on the weekend or even a multi-day tour, you can show your friends what to expect straightaway within the getaway, when they come along.
The same goes for the riding style: has it ever happened to you that you have agreed to go on a trip with friends, but then you have noticed that the style of riding doesn’t quite correspond to what you expected – or what you just wanted to do? You can specify the riding style when you create a getaway and have the choice between cruising, dynamic touring and a sporty riding style.
Set a meeting point and start time on your getaways so that everyone who joins the trip knows right away. You can also give a title to your trips and choose a suitable picture for the getaway. And the most important thing comes at the end:
all friends you want to have with you on the trip can be added by invitation! If a friend is not yet using RISER, he or she will need to create an account so that they can be added (in the future, it will also be possible to send invitations directly to friends who have not yet installed RISER – we are working on it).
The current version of the getaways is a first version of this brand-new feature – we’re still working on improvements and optimizing the function; some things will be released soon and make the getaway function even more practical for you. Please don’t forget: we do our best, but we are still a small team, so be patient if sometimes something doesn’t work as well as it should – as you already know, we always try to fix bugs as soon as possible and include your wishes in the app’s development!
