He really has the license to fly: When Sven joined RISER and we spent the first evenings after work talking about the project but also private stuff, it quickly became clear that this guy is the incorporation of a melting pot of experiences which other people hope to make in their life but most of them never do. Sven is responsible for a lot of magic that happens behind RISER and always comes up with new, additional ideas for features and stuff around the app / to enhance the eco-system around RISER. Also, it’s always interesting to discuss philosophical topics with him whilst having a drink after a long working day.
Besides flying he has a lot of other amazing skills (not only coding), speaks 5 languages and loves baking. Who could say no to that?
“My greatest passion in life is coding. Being able to work with what I like doing the most is a blessing. But as many of you know a passion can quickly fade if it only serves the purpose of making money and the work environment is stale. It’s important to have freedom otherwise creativity can not blossom.
It was truly a stroke of luck that the opportunity to work for RISER presented itself. Meeting the team, I quickly realised that I could keep my existing passion and acquire a second – A dream of mine for long, to ride a motorcycle and be part of a cool group of riders. The team consists of free souls who have found a way to keep their passion a passion, a perfect fit.
Hearing about the upcoming plans for 2018 was an equally strong factor for me joining the team – On the feature side we have some quite challenging tasks ahead of us, features that bring fun but are also useful and could change the dynamics of motorcycle riding.
The culture at RISER is amazing, having a nearly flat hierarchy means that ideas blossom and are taken into account. It’s a very friendly and laid back work environment were one can talk about everything from philosophy to comedy, conversations that are often accompanied by Nora’s delicious cooking.
The first couple of months at RISER consisted in getting to know our users and their wishes / needs. In doing so I realised that our community is different from others, our users are much more involved with the platform and its development, the feedback we receive is warm and constructive – something that is very motivating when working on new features.
I am really looking forward to seeing the feedback from our users next year as I am sure they will be happy with what we are cooking on the coding side.”
